Banana Republic has teamed with renowned jewelry designer Chan Luu, to create a collection of limited-edition bracelets. The bracelets will launch on May 20 exclusively at Banana Republic’s San Francisco accessories-only concept store, Edition by Banana Republic.

The pieces showcase Chan Luu’s signature wrap style bracelet. The bracelets consist of custom-dyed thread or leather with unique semi-precious stones, gold or sterling silver. The 17-piece collection includes four different styles in a variety of colors. The bracelets will range from $95 to $225.

The collection will be sold exclusively at Edition and will debut at an event honoring the store’s one-year anniversary. It will then be rolled out to select stores in the U.S., Canada and Japan and online in the U.S. only beginning August 10.

Simon Kneen, Creative Director and EVP of Design says.

“I’m excited to offer Banana Republic customers Chan Luu’s signature interpretation of Banana Republic’s effortless style aesthetic. Our brand is a great destination for jewelry so this adds a little something special into our already-exciting fall jewelry collection.”

Anne Hathaway Doesn’t Want Con Man Ex’s Jewelry

Anne Hathaway may have starred in The Devil Wears Prada, but she is hardly a material girl. In fact, Anne is kissing goodbye a treasure trove of jewels given to her by her con-man ex (pictured above)

Back in August 2008, Hathaway handed over about a dozen pieces of jewelry, just after her Italian-born former flame, Raffaello Follieri, was accused of cheating investors out of $13 million. Follieri was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison that October.

Anne had until February 2010 to file a petition claiming ownership of the jewels, which include two Rolex watches, a pair of silver-colored earrings with “blue and clear stones,” a silver-colored chain with a cross pendant, two gold-colored rings, a five-strand pearl necklace, and a Louis Vuitton box.

Hathaway may have closed the door on Follieri’s legal issues, but her new love interest, actor Adam Shulman (pictured below), has introduced Hathaway to a whole new world of legal trouble. He was recently accused of theft after removing a mural from a Manhattan construction site on Saturday May 15th. Shulman apparently thought it was free for the taking, said H&H Builders president Ken Hart, but returned the artwork after realizing his mistake.

Layer on the rings

Layering rings is a huge look right now. Models such as Abbey Lee Kershaw (pictured here) can flawlessly pull this look off (probably because they work with high ticket stylists). Right we’re hearing that stylists are inspired by the hippy, 70s movement; incorporating mood rings and cabochons wherever they can.

Styling tip for the average ladies: Rather than punky skulls and knuckeldusters or the overly blingy sparkly cocktail rings, try stones like turquoise, amber, aquamarine, garnet, lapis lazuli and onyx. Below is an image of Kristine F from Larvik, who has the look down in her Hunter Child outfit post on Lookbook.nu.

I have my eye on Tom Tom Jewelry’s Spring 2010 “Shape Shape It Up” collection. The geometric shapes, gems, and flashy metallic ornaments are named after some of my favorite songs to shake it to. I’m particularly a fan of the necklaces, shown above, but so we’re clear, the collection does include some bracelets and earrings as well, and with price tags hovering around $100, they’re great statement pieces that won’t cost you your accessories allowance for the month.
