Jigsaw Puzzle Stool
Buy the Jigsaw Puzzle Sttol as a set of 2. The pieces are precisely cut to fit together as snugly as the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. In any arrangement, they provide impromptu seating, a novel surface for plants or magazines, and ample material for jump-starting conversations.
Leather Band-Aids
The makers of Leather Band-Aids have coined a new phrase in fashion and medical care: “Hurt Couture”. Actually they claim that the leather breathes better than regular band-aids. We’re not sure how true that is, but we do know that this is the right way to dress a wound in style. Also, we have to admit that anyone wearing a leather band aid looks much tougher than anyone not wearing one. $15
New York Magazine: Retailers of Rusticity for Men
New York Magazine points out some great places in New York City to get the current blue collar work-wear/lumberjack looks in their post Retailers of Rusticity. Shops such as Alter, Smith & Butler, Epaulet, Billy Reid, and Dunderdon are mentioned as the must stop shops for denim, wool flannel coats, work chinos, boots, and other leather goods and accessories.
BookBook Macbook Cover by TwelveSouth
The BookBook Macbook cover by TwelveSouth is a great, creative alternative to a conventional Macbook case. This case will disguise your Macbook and will make you look like a history buff, a serious classics reader, or an encyclopedia/dictionary lover. Basically you win in more ways than one if you use this laptop case.
From TwelveSouth: “BookBook is a one-of-a-kind, hardback leather case designed exclusively for MacBook and MacBook Pro. Available in Classic Black or Vibrant Red, BookBook brings three levels of security to your prized Mac. First, the hardback cover and spine provide solid protection from the rigors of the road. Second, the vintage book design disguises MacBook for superior security. And third, the stylish case protects you from being like everyone else because BookBook is totally original, just like you.”
Lodis Chocolate Totes and Messengers
For years I’ve appreciated the quality of Lodis leather goods. I’ve had a black leather bag by Lodis for the past 4 years and the leather still looks amazing. To me, the construction of the inner pockets and lining of the bag is a better indicator of quality than how leather ages. The inside of my Lodis bag has held up much better than any Sabrina or Francesco Biasia bag.
If you are anything like me, you’re looking for a new timeless chocolate leather bag. The two pictured above are the bags I’m considering. They are reasonably priced, and frequently can be found on sale on the comparison shopping sites. Left: Leather Krush Lola Tote $325. This bag also comes in Apricot and Lemon (in my option these are way to bright. Keep it simple and go with the Chocolate option). Right: Leather Pia Paola Messenger Bag $179 (again, this bag comes in multiple colors you should avoid).
Geotria Geometric Choker
It is always a plus when we find a necklace that can be worn with casual ensembles and evening attire alike. Spring seems to offer some amazing pieces that are fashion forward, yet versatile enough to take you from day to night. The geometric, plated look has been springing up all over the place.
Laura Mathews Designs Geotria Choker is a great example of what is hot this spring. It will update any look in a flash! Give this geometric gem the attention it deserves by pairing it with a top or dress that really showcases your neckline.
Lily Allen in Russian Harper’s Bazar
It seems as though you can print whatever you want in Russia (and the rest of the world for that matter). Russia’s Harper’s Bazar shows Lily Allen shot by Alan Gelati for January’s issue.
Nail Polish from Butter LONDON
butter LONDON creates nail polish without chemicals. All of butter LONDONs’ polishes are ‘3 Free’, meaning No Formaldehyde, No toluene, and No DBP (Phthales).’
The company offers a whole rainbow of hues; my favorites from the range are ‘Fash Pack’, ‘Cheeky Chops’, and ‘Big Smoke’. The butter LONDON site even includes a helpful dictionary for all of us non-Brits to better understand where these color names came from.
