Trends in Fashion Accessories

Fashion accessories are typically the easiest and cheapest way to update an otherwise outdated outfit. For the broke high-schoolers and twenty somethings, accessories are sometimes the only fashion items that are affordable. Tried and true, incorporating seasonal accessories make enough of a different to take on outfit from bad to good. Follow our posts on the latest accessories trends here!

Monthly Subscription for Shoes

shoedazzle

Kim Kardashian is the Founder and Chief Stylist of ShoeDazzle, which offers monthly shoe subscriptions to its users.

Users of ShoeDazzle begin their membership by taking a fashion survey to build the users style preference profile. Each month, ShoeDazzle’s sends the user an email with five new shoe choices, handpicked to suit her personality and fashion preferences. The user logs into the site to select the pair she wants, and it gets shipped out for free. Monthly membership costs $39.00, which covers the shoes and shipping. Members can skip a month’s selections, in which case they won’t be charged; they can also return or exchange shoes they don’t like.

HAJI Couture Wrist Cuffs

HAJI Couture Accessories are created by Aya Nikole-Cook. Aya’s line began when she received multiple orders one night out on the town while wearing some of her feather earrings. Since then Aya has expanded her line to very unique couture pieces made mainly of feathers – my favorite being her wrist cuffs pictured. The pieces are reasonably priced and can be ordered at Etsy.com.

I just discovered By Boe while reading coco+kelley. By Boe designs beautiful pieces, most of which are made of thin wire and are dainty. Though I featured some of their meatier rings in the images above. I love the price points for the pieces, they seem incredibly reasonable. The Foldover Ring (left) $55. The Tab Ring $50. The Open Oval Earrings $24.

Desert boots have been prevalent on stylish male college students and professors alike in the past. These days, the desert boot is having a cool moment for the ladies too. Paired with Slim cut pants and socks these boots are a great option for surviving the colder months ahead.

Salt Lake City-based Zuriick crafts affordable canvas sneaker boots that are “sleek, slim, and unbranded.”

Fresh for fall is the slender Beata mid-highs in carbon (pictured left) currently ON SALE for $39 and the Kettle Zip Boot in charcoal $69 (pictured right), which zips up above the ankle and rocks a pointy Achilles flap.

Man Bust: The Jimi Wallet

jimi_safety
The product is called the Jimi, and the slogan is “The Wallet for People Who Hate Wallets.” The ideology and mission behind to product is this: the Jimi ($16) does not hold as much stuff as a traditional wallet, and that is by intent. It’s slimmer than a regular wallet and unfolds to reveal two compartments, one with a money clip, the other to hold credit cards. “Do Not Overload,” the instruction sheet warns, “Jimi holds five cards. . .plus three folded bills.” And since it’s made of hard plastic, you can’t stuff more cards and receipts and other things into it.
