Spring & Summer 2012 color trends
The foundation of any season’s collection are the colors and hues that underlie them, shape them, and eventually come to define them.
Interfiliere Paris is always the first to release their take on any season’s color trends, and for spring and summer 2012 it’s no different.

Interfiliere has also grouped their color trends for spring 2012 into different moods. For the spring / summer 2012 season they’re seeing three distinguishable color groups: tender, earthy, and floral.
Tender: The clearest and palest of pastels, ideal for lofty and silky fabrics and for a new vintage mood that is more sexy than candid.
Earthy: The earth hues: ochres, oranges and copper tones which support the passion for nature and organic environments to use with mat or shiny effects, with top-of-the-range laces, and for beachwear. Note a surge of ‘hand-dyed’ effects, especially indigo.
Florals:Floral tones, essential nuances for charming prints available now for ranges of limited volume.
Suno Resort 2012
Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty, the design duo behind Suno, has blown us away with their mix of beachy-tropical prints and patterns, as well as their use of the boldest and palest colors. The striped orange cardigan in the collection would pair just as well with a cashmere turtleneck as it would over a bandeau, and the florals were quite intentionally printed over a heavier chambray. When you consider that pattern in this collection was a head-to-toe uniform, and not Suno’s usual mixed-media fare, then the overall look was actually more approachable. Combining three prints in one outfit is no small feat, even for the most seasoned stylist, but wearing a printed bikini to the beach is a sunny proposition for us all.
“Resort is always less about artistic expression and more about having fun….After all, isn’t going on vacation supposed to be about having a good time?” Besides tongue-in-cheek souvenir shirts, that sense of play left room for plenty of charming Suno-isms, including hypercolored tropical-print button-downs and necklaces fashioned from South American worry dolls. After the more serious and grown-up mood of fall, that carefree exuberance felt right, and it’s hardly surprising that Hawaii, the ultimate in kitsch picture-postcard American getaways, was Suno’s source of inspiration.” said designer Erin Beatty.

Fall fashion is always exciting to me, but this year I’m quite excited about the handbags. This Fall we’re seeing; vintage inspired ladylike bags, oversized clutches, jewel tones and some interesting graphics.

The Row Flap Bag – this bag will cost you a very pretty penny, but it will definitely add a touch of class to all of your Fall looks.

Divalicious App: The Virtual Dressing Room
For the first time, online shopping has become the preferred shopping channel for multi-channel consumers, surpassing stores, says a new consumer survey from The E-Tailing Group Inc. Consumers prefer shopping online because they are able to locate harder to find products, they have access to greater selections, they can avoid crowds at malls and it saves them time and money. Even with all of these great benefits to e-commerce, fashion and apparel retailers still face many obstacles when selling items online. One of the biggest obstacles is the customers desire to “try on” or see how they would look in an item before they buy.
Thanks to a new mobile app called Divalicious, customers can now virtually “try on” clothes sold online. With the app, consumers can select clothes to try on and virtually “see” what they will look like in the pieces – It’s a virtual dressing room!
How it works: Customers upload a full-body image of themselves onto virtual mannequins within the app. Customers select the clothing to place over their virtual mannequins to get an idea of what the items will look like. Divalicious is said to bring more than 300 popular brands, comprised of almost one million items of apparel, shoes and accessories for women, men, children and infants under one roof . In addition, there are options to browse products by Brand, Store, Size, Color, Occasion, Price and/or Sale. Then, once you find something you like, you can click to order and the application will transfer you to the mobile website from where you can proceed. Finally, some other features also come included, such as wish list and sharing capability.
“You no longer need to go to the stores to see what you would look like in a dress from BCBG, shoes from DSW or a handbag from Saks,” said Rich Kessler, chief technology officer at Weyrich Enterprises – the company that released the app.
When you shop through Divalicious, everything is in one place for you. Find out more about the new app Divalicious.
Guerlain Terracota Skin
This summer has been one of the best ones for me, I’ve been to the beach or outdoor events two or three times a week and the sun has been shinning in San Diego all summer long. Even though I do put on sunscreen, my tan is very uneven and when I wear something strapless you can see several straps on my shoulders. Fortunately I received and tried a sample of Terracota Skin from Guerlain.
Guerlain’s first healthy glow foundation, TERRACOTA SKIN, offers the texture of both a foundation to even out the complexion, and a bronzing powder for a natural second-skin tanned effect. In just a few seconds, its magical texture melts into the skin to reveal a perfectly even complexion that simply glows with natural beauty.
As for my personal experience, the consistency feels very luxurious and creamy and it did leave my face feeling smooth, but since it’s already tanned it darkened my face more, which I didn’t like too much. Instead I used it on my shoulders and it did even out the non-tanned parts and the effect did not wear out. They offer the foundation in two shades, for blondes and for brunettes.
This product in particular is pricey at $49 for a 1 oz tube, but a little goes a long way. Guerlain has an ample selection of brozing products. Looking at their Terracota line it offers bronzing powders and spray that will help you either keep the tan you already have or give you a tan if you have none.
So if this summer you spent your time between cubicle walls or if you live in an area where you can’t get a good tan even if you want to, then try out these products and give yourself a well deserved glow.
Oliveology Shave Gel review
I’ve been using a shave gel that I just love, it’s called Oliveology and for now you can only get it online. Among the gel’s ingredients are primarily Olive Oil, as well as aloe vera, sap from the sangre de grado tree, and antioxidant Vitamins A, D and E.
These ingredients are meant to condition, lubricate and moisturize the skin. It helps the razor so slide on smoothly and truly gives a close shave. It has a very slight soapy like smell, so it can be used by men without them feeling like their using a “girl’s product”.

My personal experience with it has been a good one, I have very fine body hair and can be up to a week without shaving my legs and not only is it not noticeable but the hairs don’t threathen to shred my sheets. So in my arms and legs I didn’t notice a big difference.
So here comes the time of a little TMI. I’m the biggest chicken when it comes to getting a wax, I’ve never done it and unless I’m sedated I never will. So instead of getting a bikini wax, I shave, even though I know the result is not the same. Now here comes Oliveology and this shaving gel really does the trick, I love how smooth my skin “there” feels and it works just as well on my arm pits. It’s awesome!
I was lucky to get a 2 fl oz as a sample (I paid for the shipping), so far it’s lasted me several months and at their website this size costs $5 and the 8 oz bottle costs $12. This is a great deal for a very good product.
Another thing about the company is that Oliveology Gives Back, 30% from every purchase goes to the foundation of your choice. The programs you can support are The Brent Shapiro Foundation which helps people in the fight against drug and alcohol dependence and A Chance for Children which works with homeless and disadvantaged youth. As I mentioned, you can only purchase Oliveology online and I wish them the best of luck for their product to eventually be offered in stores as well.
A Pearl Is Created – Enter to Win!
A Pearl is Created:
In short, pearls are found inside living oysters. Pearls are the result of a biological process – they are the oyster’s way of protecting itself from foreign substances. The formation of a pearl begins when a foreign substance slips into an oyster, which irritates the oyster (kind of like the oyster getting a splinter). The oyster’s natural reaction is to cover up that irritant with layers of a nacre substance (the same substance that is used to create the shell). This eventually forms a pearl. So a pearl is a foreign substance covered with layers of nacre.
Laguna Pearl is an established Beverly Hills based store that sells pearl jewelry exclusively. I recently got myself a pair of White Akoya Cultured Pearl Stud Earrings from Laguna Pearl. The studs are amazing. The luster and appearance were both fantastic. I could not see any blemishes (through the naked eye). The pearls are perfectly rounded and the same size, and the color is excellent. Additionally, the shipping was quick and the packaging was impressive. Overall I would rate these pearl studs as flawless, and would recommend Laguna Pearl to anyone looking to buy some new pearl jewelry.
Speaking of getting new pearl jewelry – please enter the Summer Giveaway for a chance to win a $750 gift card to LagunaPearl.com. There will be 5 runner-up prizes including necklaces and earrings. And everyone who enters will be given a discount of $20-$150 to use online!
