Dress Like Your Favorite Serial Killer For Halloween
You’re a lovely person all the time. Ok most of the time. For Halloween, take a walk on the dark side and dress as the sinister angel with an insatiable thirst to kill – Dexter, everyone’s favorite serial killer.
Dexter by day is a blood spatter pattern analyst for the Miami Dade Police Department and by night a serial killer. He thinks he can quell human emotion, but has started to care for the few relationships in his life.
To develop Dexter the character, you’ll need to fight the Dark Passenger and make every effort to follow The Code. Does the need for human connection matter to you? Can you keep this dark secret? Allow for some signs of human emotion, and play up his psychological struggles. Oh the complexities of a double life!
The easy part is the costume. Start with a thermal Henley, and layer with a lab coat or apron and you’ll be able to put together Dexter’s full ensemble. Add a Dexter syringe, plastic knife, and a black trash bag as accessories to incorporate his tell-tale tools and have fun!
Men’s Dexter Kill Thermal | Analyst Lab Coat | Blood Splatter iPhone Case | Syringe Pen | Black Leather Gloves | Military Combat Boots | Cargo Pants

It’s all in the bag
Boxy top-handle satchels, vintage travel bags, daytime clutches, evening pouches and exotic prints are among the top handbag trends for Fall 2012. While these bold carryalls may tend to look kitschy on their own, they pair perfectly with the array of minimal shapes and silhouettes we’ll be seeing this Fall.
The handbags of Fall 2012 provide a clean, modern canvas on which embellishments and pops are sure to take center stage.
Daytime clutches: This season, bigger is better when it comes to clutches. Carry an oversized clutch to the office (it can double as an iPad case) or carry yours while bumming around on a Saturday afternoon.
Top handle bags: The perfect accessory for achieving the much coveted ladylike look this Fall. Don’t forget your pointed-toe pumps for a perfectly polished look!
Printed canvas bags: They come in all shapes and sizes this season, from tote bags to mini cross-body bags. Printed handbags are an easy way to add dimension and texture to an outfit.
Embellished handbags: A great evening bag starts with a little glitz – which makes this seasons bedazzled pouches perfect for a night on the town.
Fall 2012 shoe alert
We’re seeing a few prominent shoe trends for Fall 2012- metallic leathers, revamped silhouettes, color blocking, pointed-toe, and sky high heels.
Boots are always a staple for Fall. This season the classic riding boot will be getting a lot of attention. Gucci and Givenchy are among a handful of designers who showcased riding boots in their Fall ’12 collections. For a wallet-friendly version, check out the sleek riding boots from Guess. For a take on the Fall utilitarian trend, wear these boots with super skinny denim and a cable knit sweater. If you’re ready to get out of your black boot rut (and you should be), opt for a printed ankle boot and pair with your favorite LBD.
Next, we’re onto the pointed-toe shoe trend. Pointed toe offers such a sexy and sophisticated shape, but yet are very versatile. Try a metallic pointed-toe pump, like the Kesli Dagger two-toned pair (shown above) for a modern twist. Pair them with anything from ultra-skinny denim to a midi-length dress. If you’re more of a “flats” type of gal, pair pointed-toe flats with cropped trousers. Don’t be afraid to channel your inner Audrey Hepburn a little!
The wedge is a style of shoe that comes and goes, and for Fall 2012 they are big in a whole new way. We introduce the ultra-wedge, as seen at Helmut Lang and Stella McCartney. Try an ankle strap ultra-wedge, like the pair by L.A.M.B. and wear them with a pleated dress and tights to add a little edge to a ladylike look. You can also keep your look casual by pairing them with your favorite wide leg denim and t-shirt for that cool bohemian vibe.

Fall 2012 must-haves
Nothing gets me more excited and ready for Fall than the September issues of my favorite fashion magazines. Each page filled with the seasons latest colors, styles and trends – something new and fresh on every page. It makes me want to go out and buy something for Fall (Alexander Wang’s Pelican cross-body bag to be exact).
I’m quite excited for Fall 2012, because it seems that runway trends can actually translate into the real world – bold colors paired with basic silhouettes, mixed with ladylike accessories. Classic, yet chic and best of all – easy!
Leather or patterned pants look great paired with basic tops, especially with a crewneck sweater for a take on the sporty trend. Messy chignons and minimal makeup, in pink hues make for an effortless, fresh Fall look. In terms of accessories, opt for a masculine leather band watch for a polished look and for that much needed pop of color, add a brightly colored silk scarf. A bold, embellished heel adds a little edge to those flirty, feminine dresses you’ll be wearing this season. And for carrying all of your goods – ditch the slouchy bag for a structured satchel this Fall, it’ll add a little sophistication to any outfit.
