Dana Lee Spring/Summer 2010
Dana Lee’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection is here, and May’s delivery is soft and yet still trendy enough to pair with jeans. Chambray shirts are offered in an eye-catching dip dye, and denim jackets and plain polos provide balance to a youthful ensemble. Everything is young, fresh, and simple at Dana Lee, and ready to get a wash of sunshine. Mainly pastels and basics here.
Whillas & Gunn: Autumn/Winter 2010
New Australian label Whillas & Gunn combines timeless rugged Australian outerwear with the polished fit of contemporary styling. With all the Heritage brands out now, it’s good to see one is emerging from down under. Just don’t mistake it for anything Crocodile Dundee might wear.
Vanishing Elephant: Spring/Fall 2010
Vanishing Elephant has released images of their Spring and Fall 2010 Collections. The collection for Spring will be entitled Northern Hemisphere while the Fall collection will reflect the Southern Hemisphere. Here are some images from their upcoming range which will include knits, plaid suits, vests, leather, and footwear. Its very hard to tell which pieces belong to each season since the color palette appears to be very ‘fall’. Regardless, there are some handsome, clean and simple pieces being released this year.
Chauncey: Fall/Winter 2010 Lookbook
Brussels-based menswear label, Chauncey leans towards the modern, simplistic fashion trends by relying upon extreme creativity and precision by using high quality yarns and manufacturers. According to Chancey, the line is meant for the “elegant gentleman traveler” look with a slice of Belgian surrealism (though I would say that the model looks anything but an elegant traveler with his pale skin, obviously bleacher hair and neck tattoo…don’t get me wrong, he’s still beautiful). For Fall/Winter 2010 the collection ranges from simplistic knits, scarves, tops, and trousers. There’s a quiet look to the collection that I’m sure some of the more humble fashionable men will appreciate.

Dunhill Fall 2010
These guys look okay in the Dunhill Fall 2010 collection despite their clean yet angry look, oversized jackets and flood pants. What excites me most about this collection is the accessories. I love the brief cases, man purses, backpacks and flasks. It seems like flasks are all the rage right now, every retailer appears to be releasing their own rendition of the trendy flask.
Equal Opportunity Shapewear from Spanx
We should have seen this coming, men can now look like they have a firm chest and flat stomach without putting in the hard work at the gym. Enter the age of shapewear for men, thanks to Sara Blakely the founder of Spanx. I have a feeling Spanx for Men will never be a mainstream sensation, and I hope my gut instinct is correct.
Zero + Maria Cornejo Menswear Collection
Maria Cornejo’s new collection is an extension of her distinctive approach to using women’s design elements as key pieces for men. Classic Zero + Maria Cornejo shapes are the foundation of the collection, including a rain jacket that is concave shaped, and a textured cotton double-layered shirt. But really? What is up with the sandal/clog/slingback shoe? Would any straight man ever be caught in something like this? I need to know who makes them, and if they’re comfortable, because these random shoes are pretty enough for me any day. And as always, no collection is complete without a pair of black tailored slim trousers, and Cornejo’s look fantastic.
The new collection will be available in February 2010.
