It may almost be the summer, but that doesn’t always mean sunny days and warm weather! This is where sweater dresses come into play. Sweater dresses are a great alternative to a jumper and jeans and look perfect teamed with boots and on-trend opaque patterned tights.
If you are little worried about the clinginess of such a style, simply pop on a light support garment underneath, this will in turn make you seem more svelte and a lot more confident.
Sweater dresses are a great option for the more curvaceous woman as they offer a figure flattering shape, which even suits the most athletic of body types.
The basic black dress is an absolute must in every woman’s wardrobe, whatever your shape or size. It’s a staple item that can be both dressed up or dressed down and is a fail-safe option when you feel you have nothing else to wear!
When you need to look good and look good quickly, reach for the trusty LBD. It’s certainly one statement item that every plus sized woman should have in her closet
Look for a dress that fits perfectly. Opting to wear a strapless full-length camisole underneath the garment will work wonders on the figure. The black dress is also a great option for women who have curvy assets to show off. Invest in a form-fitting dress for best results.
Team with glossy locks, lashings of mascara, killer heels and a good lip color for the maximum wow factor, or alternatively with flat pumps and opaques for an office look! Adding a shawl or some statement jewellery is a great way to dress the LBD up a little and the contrast between the two, really make accessories stand out.

Last but not least, here is my favorite pick for a summer dress.
Monique Lhuillier‘s Spring/Summer 2011 Collection is a beautiful visual celebration, one that I have come back to multiple times since becoming engaged. There are clear floral inspirations weaved throughout the collection as well as a refreshing use of bold and soft pastels colors. Lace, chiffon, sequins and intricate beadwork make the pieces pop with a rich, strong, sophisticated and glamorous look.
The deep v-neck dress below is similar to the silhouette of my wedding dress, my dress will be with ivory lace and not sequins.
The gold dress with a top that looks like sprayed on glitter is spectacular.
I love the striking poppy blue flower skirt + corset top combination below.
It’s that time again, when your calendars start filling up with Holiday functions. Whatever your Holiday plans entail, this time of year can be hectic…planning dinner parties, scheduling vacation time, or most importantly, finding something to wear to all of your Holiday events.
I’m here to possibly help lower your stress level. I’ve created looks appropriate for all of the events you have scheduled for this Holiday season!
The Office Party
Boat necklines are very elegant and flattering on most body types. Pair a LBD with nude heels and a jacket with a pop of color for a polished and sophisticated look. You might not wear this at the office, but you want your outfit to portray you and your professionalism (even if you you are dancing with the guy from accounting)!
Dinner with your boyfriend (and his parents)
This dress is festive, cute and the coverage of the dress is perfect for dinner with your future in-laws! Pair a short dress with opaque tights for a charming, yet modern look (his parents will be sure to adore you)!
Dinner with friends
This is a trendy outfit that your friends will appreciate! Pair a cable-knit sweater with a knee length skirt for that “lady-like” look that we love for Fall. Add a motorcycle jacket and ankle boots for a little edge.
Nothing screams the Holiday’s like a little bit of glitz and glam. If you’re attending a “cocktail party,” this is the perfect look. Pair a metallic dress with platform ankle boots for a flirty and fun look!
Who doesn’t love a little color to get them through the grueling workweek.
Here are some of my favorite color inspirations today!
This might as well be called the Pantone color kitchen. I really dig this look, especially with the strangely clean counter and tabletop. I think the look could easily go south if countertop appliances and accessories aren’t white, great or a very basic color. I admire anyone who can pull this look off int their kitchen!
Here are some of the best of the best colored pieces this year.

Jessi is constantly sewing herself the trendiest new dresses, shirts and pants (you can imagine how excited I get to receive presents from her). Just today, she completed this number, I call it Tie-Dye Lite. It’s made of gray bamboo. The draping is excellent, creating a very flattering silhouette, for an already slim gal. After the dress was completed, she added peach paint to a spray can and sprayed the dress to give it this nice Tie-Dye effect.
I’m hoping she makes me something similar for my up-coming birthday!
