Jantzen turns 100
My only experience with Jantzen to date was watching my mom, aunts and grandma try on these old-lady-like swimsuits at Herberger’s department stores while I was growing up.
Now that the brand has turned 100, it seems like their doing something that might be current, and less old-lady-like. Take a look at some pieces off their new Heritage Collection, a collection inspired by swim looks over the past 10 decades.

To celebrate its big birthday, Jantzen is kicking off a series of centennial promotions at stores around the United States. In April, they will run a promotion with Harper’s Bazaar and Dillard’s department stores. In May, there will be a promotion with Elle and Macy’s to create an event called “Swim Days: What Suit’s Your Style,” a road show it will take to nine Macy’s stores around the country. Finally, Jantzen is sponsoring “100 Years of Timeless Glamour” at the Art Institute of Portland, Ore., its hometown. In addition to swimsuits, imagery, celebrity advertisements, and accessories, the installation includes a 21-foot fiberglass version of its Diving Girl logo.
Difference between Europe and the USA

Sister Crayon (the Band)

Terra Lopez, Danielle Fernandez, Nicholas Suhr and Genaro Ulloa have previously played for bands such as: An Angle, Scene Index, Alas Alak Alaska, Evening Episode, Kyoto Beat Orchestra, Make Amends, and Phantom Float before emerging together as the brilliant Sister Crayon.
Led by Terra Lopez, the band are Sacramento’s art folk darlings (imagine a non-Brooklyn MGMT with Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval on vocals). So sultry, breathy vocals over band claps and dulcet piano patters. Their debut EP “Enter Into Holy (Or)Ders” is out now and their first album will be out in June on Manimal Vinyl, with the European premiere of the video for “(in) Reverse” right here.
1st TV Show Crush
At work on Friday, we had a staff meeting to go over our 2010 Marketing initiatives (which excite me because there is a huge SEO and Social Media push this year, which is new to our company…and fall in my world). As always, we started the meeting off with an awful ice breaker. The information we had to share with the team was who our first TV Show crush was growing up. Of course I was sitting in the front of the room, so I was elected to share first.

I was madly obsessed with boys at a very young age, so I’m sure there are a handful of crushes I can’t remember at this point.
The first actor that came to mind was Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I grew up watching him in 3rd Rock from the Sun, and loved loved loved his long hair. No one else on my team seemed to share this crush with me…probably because most of my co-workers are a decade plus older than me.
Joseph is all grown up now, he’s a great actor, and has appeared in many movies, Broadway and was hands-down the best SNL host of 2009 (he did a back-flip in his monologue)
