Diet Coke Partners with Nails Inc.

Diet Coke has inked a deal with Nails Inc. to produce a and four-piece collection of nail color. The nail polish can be ordered online through Asos.com, which has a partnership with the soda brand. The four-piece collection includes the nude London hue, a deep purple nod to Paris, a passionate red for Milan and a bright fuchsia pink for NYC…the colors sound appropriate for the cities they represent, but tell me Diet Coke, did you come up with the colors or was Nails Inc. doing some hand holding?

I feel like I’m missing something. Why really, would Diet Coke get into the Beauty industry? Should I be expecting more off brand collaborations out of Coke, or is this a one-off, random partnership? Someone make sense of this for me!

1st TV Show Crush

At work on Friday, we had a staff meeting to go over our 2010 Marketing initiatives (which excite me because there is a huge SEO and Social Media push this year, which is new to our company…and fall in my world). As always, we started the meeting off with an awful ice breaker. The information we had to share with the team was who our first TV Show crush was growing up. Of course I was sitting in the front of the room, so I was elected to share first.

I was madly obsessed with boys at a very young age, so I’m sure there are a handful of crushes I can’t remember at this point.

The first actor that came to mind was Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I grew up watching him in 3rd Rock from the Sun, and loved loved loved his long hair. No one else on my team seemed to share this crush with me…probably because most of my co-workers are a decade plus older than me.

Joseph is all grown up now, he’s a great actor, and has appeared in many movies, Broadway and was hands-down the best SNL host of 2009 (he did a back-flip in his monologue)

Grey Hair Feature in Sunday Times Style Magazine

Sunday Times Style Magazine

My boyfriend and I were watching American Idol last night and he made a comment about Lilly Scott’s grey hair. He didn’t understand why she’s purposefully color it grey. He also thought I sounded snotty, and “above the trend” to know that it was a popular hair color, which still makes me a little mad, because I don’t feel above the trend and definitely don’t think of myself as snotty.

I was determined to find a story, or lots of photos of young hipsters with grey hair to show him, and was relieved to find this article in the Sunday Times Style Magazine (although I’ve actually never heard of this magazine before). This story outlines the grey hair youth movement from east London, to models on the Paris catwalks. The story says that an understated grey is directional, classy and perfect right now. Apparently Victoria Beckham and Karen O are getting in on the act by letting their own silver strands peep through.

Tooth Artists, producing Tooth Tattoos

If you want to immortalize your adoration for an object or person but are hesitant to have it inked onto your body, maybe you should consider getting a tooth tattoo instead. Considered by some to be the ultimate “white collar” ink. Tooth tattoos are usually done towards the back of the mouth, only to be revealed when purposefully pulling back the lip. The Tooth Artists works with a dental lab to hand paint crowns with images of everything from Mickey Mouse to a rooster.
