CottonInk Official Webstore Launching
The official launch of the Indonesia brand CottonInk webstore took place yesterday May 18th. The new site offers a convenient shopping experience with the items divided per category featuring a shopping bag to place your item(s) to be purchased. Moreover, the webstore includes a blog story section that features a compilation of interesting stories and images that you can submit about the brand.
For the few that are unfamiliar with the brand Cotton Ink, Cotton Ink was founded on November 2008 by Carline Darjanto and Ria Sarwono. This duo fashion designer and graphic designer team created a brand, which as the name implies is made of cotton, which I believe, is the perfect material that suits this tropical weather.
Anne Hathaway Doesn’t Want Con Man Ex’s Jewelry
Anne Hathaway may have starred in The Devil Wears Prada, but she is hardly a material girl. In fact, Anne is kissing goodbye a treasure trove of jewels given to her by her con-man ex (pictured above)
Back in August 2008, Hathaway handed over about a dozen pieces of jewelry, just after her Italian-born former flame, Raffaello Follieri, was accused of cheating investors out of $13 million. Follieri was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison that October.
Anne had until February 2010 to file a petition claiming ownership of the jewels, which include two Rolex watches, a pair of silver-colored earrings with “blue and clear stones,” a silver-colored chain with a cross pendant, two gold-colored rings, a five-strand pearl necklace, and a Louis Vuitton box.
Hathaway may have closed the door on Follieri’s legal issues, but her new love interest, actor Adam Shulman (pictured below), has introduced Hathaway to a whole new world of legal trouble. He was recently accused of theft after removing a mural from a Manhattan construction site on Saturday May 15th. Shulman apparently thought it was free for the taking, said H&H Builders president Ken Hart, but returned the artwork after realizing his mistake.
The Chippensteel 0.5
The Chippensteel 0.5 is a chair designed by Oskar Zieta. Its an obvious match for his Plopp Stool which launched a couple years ago.
In fact, this chair is made with exactly the same production technique called FiDU as his Plopp Stool. FiDU is an abbreviation for German “FreieInnenDruckUmformung” – the Internal Pressure Forming. It means that two shapes cut from steel sheets are welded around their edges and inflated into a 3d object under high pressure. I really like the simplicity of this technique and Oskar seems to push its boundaries to the limit, however I’ve yet to see an interior designer incorporate both the Chippensteel and the Plopp into a room properly.

Diet Coke Partners with Nails Inc.
Diet Coke has inked a deal with Nails Inc. to produce a and four-piece collection of nail color. The nail polish can be ordered online through Asos.com, which has a partnership with the soda brand. The four-piece collection includes the nude London hue, a deep purple nod to Paris, a passionate red for Milan and a bright fuchsia pink for NYC…the colors sound appropriate for the cities they represent, but tell me Diet Coke, did you come up with the colors or was Nails Inc. doing some hand holding?
I feel like I’m missing something. Why really, would Diet Coke get into the Beauty industry? Should I be expecting more off brand collaborations out of Coke, or is this a one-off, random partnership? Someone make sense of this for me!
